Research Analyst

Summary

Data Sciences is looking for a research analyst to assist in the development and execution of market research studies, online experiments and other research projects. This is an entry-level position for someone who has experience in R. The right fit is someone who is a highly motivated self-learner looking to grow and take on a challenging role at a fast-growing company.

Key Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:

  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Online survey programming
  • Establish research strategies and write survey questionnaires
  • Draft research reports and memos
  • Present research findings to clients
  • Innovate and contribute ideas to new ways of streamline processes and solving problems
  • Carry out other special projects as required

Candidate Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with experience in quantitative methods.
  • R programming capabilities: 1+ year experience (Intermediate). Knowledge of Tidyverse is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work with code and follow coding best practices.
  • Understanding of statistical principles, particularly with respect to survey design and interpretation. 
  • Fully bilingual in English and French if working out of the Montreal Headquarters.
  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills – detail-oriented, ability to manage several tasks at once and stick to deadlines, good at identifying priorities and managing expectations.
  • Flexibility: you don’t get flustered when new challenges are thrown your way.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pivot/react quickly when needed.
  • Computer literacy in all Google Suite programs (Drive, Doc, Sheets, Slides, etc).

Assets:

  • Experience in market and/or public opinion research
  • Knowledge of other programming languages and tools (e.g. SQL, Python, JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. git)
  • Experience related to politics or campaigning
  • Experience with public speaking and presenting research to diverse audiences
  • We work globally! Knowledge of other languages is appreciated
