Human Resources Generalist

Summary

The ideal candidate will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, new hire orientation and onboarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave and enforcing company policies and procedures. for recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee termination, payroll and benefits, company policy and procedure adherence. In addition, you will build strong relationships with our company's managers in order to help them with their human resource needs.

Accountabilities

  • Oversee full-cycle of recruitment efforts.
  • Develop and oversee new hire orientation, onboarding efforts and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and legal responsibilities.
  • Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s HRIS system.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or a related area
  • 2+ years of experience working in Human Resources
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
